Ilesfay® PLM Backup provides reliable and economic backup of all data associated with the PLM environment. For one location or dozens of collaborative sites, Ilesfay Backup can ensure that consistent backups are available when a recovery scenario occurs.

Ilesfay’s thin agent and PointToCloud® architecture means that setting up each backup scenario is accomplished by using a simple point-and-click console.  Once the backup is configured, all file changes are continuously captured and replicated to the cloud to ensure valid point-in-time recoverability.

By leveraging Amazon’s AWS cloud infrastructure, Ilesfay’s PLM Backup is provided as an infrastructure service (i.e., IaaS), which means no hardware purchase, install, or maintenance is required to setup PLM backup services.

Amazon AWS cloud services mean that all Ilesfay PLM Backups are instantly available for restore to any global location.  If a datacenter location is non-functional (flood, fire, tornado, etc.) a new location can be established and all PLM Backups are instantly available.  Backups are then made available through the same centralized administration console.

Binary Change Increments

Using Ilesfay’s patented MatchMaking® binary analysis process, PLM Backup is able to instantly determine which blocks of data have changed since the last backup, which means that only binary blocks of data that have changed need to be copied.  Backup windows, if any, have never been shorter.

Unlimited Capacity

As an Amazon AWS cloud-based service, PLM Backup provides nearly infinite scalability of backup resources without the need to understand or administer the underlying compute and storage hardware.  One location or dozens of locations can have reliable and endless backup resources with Ilesfay’s PLM Backup solution.

All File Types

The Ilesfay PLM Backup solution is tuned to provide maximum benefit within the PLM application environment, but all files that are located with the PLM environment – vaulted or non-vaulted, database, un-structured, etc. – can be backed up by the PLM Backup service.  This means that Ilesfay provides the comprehensive backup utility necessary to support the entire PLM application system.

Centralized Administration

Leveraging the functions of Ilesfay’s CDE™ operations core, each customer is provided a simple console to manage all aspects of the PLM Backup environment.  Each location can be centrally defined and administered via the CDE console.

Continuous Monitoring & Reporting

In addition to providing comprehensive PLM Backup administration capabilities, the Ilesfay administration console also provides continuous monitoring and reporting of the PLM Backup environment.  This eliminates endless uncertainty about backup and recoverability.

Inconsistent Remote IT Services

Locations may have inconsistent or non-existent IT resources to perform and validate backups in all locations.

In many cases PLM vaults are located in global locations that do not necessarily require full-time IT personnel to manage, but reliable backups of the PLM system are critical to the performance of the application.  With Ilesfay PLM Backup the backup can be defined and scheduled from any location for any and all locations.  In this way the PLM environment can be remotely backed up and secured.

Pricing

Pricing for Ilesfay PLM Backup is defined by two parameters:

  1. Number of sites/vaults participating in the PLM Backup– a per site/vault fee.
  2. Amount of data that managed within the PLM Replication network.

Site/server and data fees are invoiced on a monthly basis.  Annual usage plans can be developed to help eliminate monthly variations, which may address fluctuating budget concerns.
